Rev. Michael Cox

Interim Minister

As the Director of Outreach Ministry at Operation Nightwatch, Michael provides pastoral care to the homeless community in Seattle, Washington. Michael served as a chaplain for street-involved youth for ten years, leads the Broadway Community Dinner Church, is ordained with the Disciples of Christ, and is a certified spiritual director. Serving as a pastor and advocate for the homeless community is an honor. Michael believes that we are all created in the image of God and that the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit is for everyone. Michael loves playing the guitar and pretending to walk his dog. His wife and kids would say he likes to sit on the couch and drink coffee more than anything!

 

Nancy Gregory

Accompanist

Nancy has been teaching voice and piano for the past 35 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Washington. In addition to her home studio, she is also a member of the faculty of Concordia Arts and Music Academy.

 

Cameron McLaughlin                             

Property Manager

Cameron has been a member of the church for 18 years, first discovering it simply by walking by and realizing he had found a church close to home.   A native Washingtonian who grew up in Shoreline, Cameron has  called Renton home for the past 25 years.   He currently serves as the church’s Property Manager and also works as a school bus driver for the Tahoma School District.  Faith has long been a part of Cameron’s family, with his mother serving as a commissioned minister in the United Church of Christ As a father of two, some of his favorite moments are spent watching his oldest play football, soccer and wrestle, encouraging his younger son’s love of drawing and creativity.  When he isn’t working or spending time with his family, you’ll likely find him backpacking  – or enjoying a really good cup of coffee.  What Cameron values most about serving the church is the opportunity to help strengthen its ministry, reach out to the surrounding community, and find practical ways to serve others while reflecting the love and example of Christ.
